Hi there.
I was wondering if Im the only one who is sick to death of the students from John Ruskin running a muck at lunchtimes in Somerfield.
I generally avoid shopping there at lunchtimes but today I couldnt and it was a nightmare. First a group of girls jumped the queue and proceeded to swear at everyone waiting.... then a group of boys went on a looting spree through the store.
I did phone the college but I dont think they were particularly interested...
Is there an AGM soon, so we can maybe discuss this issue. Afterall this is our home and they are our local shops and these yobs are merely visitors and should be more respectful!

Hi there. Yes, it is a ferqient problem. They run amok, shout and swear and drop their litter blatantly. I once asked them tos top spitting and pick up their litter and got a load of abuse. There are always thefts from Somerfield but the staff say the police turn up a day later and it's a waste of time. Even my young son witnessed a load of hoodies stealing the other day froom somerfield. They just walked out blase. It's sickening. THey know they can get awauy with uit and that's the problem in every strand of society in the UK today. These yobs will one day breed their own little yoblets - and the problems deepen "like a coastal shelf".

I had my first taste of this lot when I had to fetch something at the flat during lunch time. They were hanging out directly outside the gate to the garden and I have to say it was quite intimidating to have to go past them. They were busy eating their lunches. Surprise, surprise, upon getting back that evening all their empty containers were strewn along the path. In fact the stream of rubbish goes all the way past the college to Gravel Hill tram stop.
It is disgusting that the college are not forcing them to pick up litter around the area... mind you, the teachers are probably scared of the students.

I complained ot the school several times. They didn't respond until my 3rd letter, but did nothing without evidence. They're not local kids - this is where communities and schools all go wrong.

The way in which they behave is disgusting and the school should be responsible for the students during the time in which the students are in their care.
I wish they would close the place down. during the holidays there has been hardly any litter around and it has been a pleasure walking around the area.
I wonder if the community officers would be able to patrol around a bit more. The council could make a lot of money out fines for the littering.
