Hi there,
I'm very shortly going to be viewing two properties in Markfield - numbers 124 and 153 respectively. We're a family of three (our youngest is nearly 2!) hoping to move from Wanstead, East London to what looks like a very pleasant part of Croydon! I've done a little research on the area but would welcome information from local Markfield residents with regard to the neighbours, crime rate, general quality of life and so on. It looks like number 153 is in particular need of some tender loving care - does anybody know who lived there before and why they left? The main thing I'm trying to avoid in this house hunt is neighbours from hell as we've been plagued by this in the past. Any information or friendly tips and advice gratefully received.
Best regards from a prospective Markfield resident!

Hello jphendriksen, I started off buying a flat on Markfield and was very happy down that end of the estate for seven and a half years before we moved to a three bed on Viney Bank.
Through the Courtwood School PTA I know a number parents living on Markfield who are very happy. Parking can be an issue but it's also an issue on other parts of the estate including the managed areas.
Hope your house hunting goes well. Best regards Martin

We moved here just under two years ago, to be near to the family, and are very happy. Parking is a problem but we knew that when we bought the house. At the moment having problems with BT as we have no phone and cannot get to talk to a human at BT. Tomorrow is the nest deadline for the phone to be working...we'll see.
