Markfield Double Yellow Lines

Does anyone have any idea why suddenly there is a set of double yellow lines that stretches the entire length of the first markfield turn off?

Surely this is in the wrong place. I can understand that on occasion people had to park with 2 wheels on the pavement but they never really caused an obstruction.

All this will do is force people to park on courtwood lane. This will in turn restrict the road and cause problems with trying to get past the busses.

If anyone is interested i have got a reply from the council.

The lines have been put in as late last year an ambulance could not get up the road. The request was made from the management company.

I think that has to be conjecture. I don't think I have ever driven up Markfield and thought "an Ambulance couldn't get through here". Don't recommend a fire though, even with the yellow lines lol. Oh and the irony of four parking tickets after 12 hour late and night shifts. Cheers Surely it will alert potential homebuyers immediately that there is an issue with parking specific to this road, a major consideration for most people.
