Anyone tried out the new Italian in high street?

Seen it's busy in the evening. Anyone been yet? What's the food like? The prices look reasonable.

I havent been there yet, but i passed today about 6.30 and it was shut. not sure if they are open Mondays or if they open later.

haha percy! very funny. Just reread my post and realised. Of course I was referring to the new Italian Restaurant in the high street (the name escapes me). I think they might be closed at lunch time and the lunch time menu is by request only but I also saw a sign the other day that said there is 20% off the menu prices at lunch time. Will definately have to pay a visit.

I think it was called Bella Vista. i was thinking of trying it sometime but a friend of mine says its booking only.

Is it Bella Vita or Bella Italia?... Anyway, we tried it one evening and didn't really enjoy it. The food wasn't great, nor was the service. A pity.

I've eaten there several times since I posted this message and think it's lovely! I'm surprised you had a bad experience tanya. That's a shame. We've always found the food gorgeous, the service excellent and the prices very reasonable. The only downpoint I noticed is that over the course of the last 18 months, their portions have got smaller!!!!

We just found that the ingredients used were not fresh for example the mushrooms were out of a tin etc. At an Italian restaurant I would expect fresh ingredients.

While we were eating the waiters were moving the tables around and just added a table to ours (which was a two seater). The didn't ask us if we objected etc.

There were some other things which I can't remember as it was quite a long time ago now that we went there.

the up side though is that it was cheap.
